Located about an hour and a half west of Rochester, Lewiston combines the shops and restaurants of Center Street with access to the Niagara River and Niagara Gorge. Throughout the year, the village hosts popular events, including the Lewiston Art Festival and the Lewiston Jazz Festival.

Breakfast
Stop for a hearty meal at Syros Restaurant or grab a coffee from Orange Cat Coffee Co. and a breakfast sandwich from Village Bake Shoppe.
Morning
Enjoy a walk through Artpark, where hiking trails, public art installations, and views of the Niagara Gorge share space with concert venues and performance areas. Next, drive to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. The glass-domed basilica overlooks the grounds below, where you’ll find more than 100 life-sized statues and the heart-shaped Rosary Pool. Climb the steps to stand beside the 13-foot statue of Our Lady of Fatima. A self-guided tour brochure is available on the shrine’s website.
Lunch
Stop by Apple Granny, The Spicey Pickle, or Favorites Pizza & Wings for lunch. From Friday through Sunday, Brandi’s Cask + Cow is another option.
Afternoon
Take a jet boat ride on the Niagara River with Whirlpool Jet Boat Adventures, or watch the boats from the rim trails at Devil’s Hole State Park and Whirlpool State Park. Hundreds of stone steps lead from both parks to the river’s edge.
On the way back to the village, stop at the free Niagara Power Vista for interactive exhibits, hydropower activities, and panoramic views of the river gorge.
Before dinner, browse the boutiques, galleries, and specialty shops along Center Street.
Dinner
Head to The Silo, featured on The Travel Channel’s show, Man v. Food.
Alternatively, enjoy an Italian meal in the village center at Casa Antica or at Carmelo’s Coat of Arms. For pub fare, visit Tin Pan Alley, Brickyard Pub & BBQ, or Griffon Brewery and Gastropub. Then treat yourself to ice cream at Hibbard’s Original Frozen Custard.
Evening
Plan your day trip to coincide with one of Artpark’s live performances in the outdoor amphitheater overlooking the Niagara River Gorge. Throughout the summer, the park hosts a variety of music, theater, and dance performances.
Signature Events
The Lewiston Art Festival in mid-August brings a juried art show, crafts, live music, and food to Center Street during the second full weekend of the month.
The Lewiston Jazz Festival in late August features more than 100 performances across five outdoor stages along Center Street during the last weekend of the month. Local pubs also host after-hours jam sessions and concerts.
The Niagara County Peach Festival in early September celebrates the local peach harvest with four days of food, entertainment, and family activities in Academy Park.
