Corbetts Glen

Corbetts Glen Nature Park

Nestled in between an express way and 2 highly trafficked roads near the Penfield/Brighton Town borders, Corbetts Glen Nature Park is a glorious green space in a suburban jungle.

As overused as this statement is, Corbetts Glen is truly a hidden gem. I am always surprised by how many people drive past it every day and have never realized it was there, myself included. Against a beautiful backdrop, you can catch prom, wedding and senior pictures being staged right next to folks salmon fishing.

When you visit, you will notice you seem to be walking through people’s back yards, because you are!

The homeowners are passionate about keeping the Corbett’s Glen beautiful and open for everyone’s enjoyment. The glen may have been a story of the past had it not been for this nature-loving community.

Fun fact: President Abraham Lincoln’s funeral train passed along the railroad tracks above the tunnel in 1865, on its way to Illinois.

Park on Glen Road, off Rt. 441, respecting the signs. A two minute walk down the road will take you to the tunnel under railroad tracks where Allen Creek produces its 1st waterfall. There you will find a lovely picnic table and bench, perfect for taking a quick work-day lunch break. Keep on walking the two-mile trail for more breathtaking views of waterfalls, wetland marsh, woodland and meadow.

A second lot off Penfield Road is available as well, it will just start you furthest from Corbett’s Glen Tunnel and Postcard Falls, the signature feature of the park.
